How to make simple paper flowers: crepe paper and tissue paper

On the subject of decorations to be made for the home or in view of an event, there is only the embarrassment of the choice. Today we learn how to make simple paper flowers, origami so to speak. In this guide we will teach you two different types of flowers , using a specific type of paper for each one. We are going to do:


origami flowers with cardboard;
flowers with crepe paper;
flowers with tissue paper.
Each type of flower will be accompanied by photos and video tutorials , so as to have a precise picture of the actions to be performed for the realization. However, as you will see, these jobs are really very easy , so much so that you can also make paper flowers with your children or, if you are a teacher, offer them to your students at school.

How to make paper flowers with cardboard

Now we will focus on making just one paper flower. We explain the basics of the technique, then it will be your creativity to personalize everything.

To make this simple paper flower you need:

more colored cards (square shape, 12x12cm)
scissors
glue vinavil
Method:
take the cardboard and fold it in two , making a diagonal in the center
cut along the diagonal , thus obtaining two triangles
we now work on only one of the triangles
take the corner of the longest side of your triangle, and bring the tip to the top corner, as in the picture

press the side well
do the same with the other corner
you will get a little rumble
now, fold one of the wings of the diamond on itself, as in the picture

be careful that the side of the wing and the side of the diamond are aligned
press well on the edges
repeat with the other wing
now, take the tips of the two flaps, and fold them inwards , as in the picture

take the glue
glue all the fins together
start from the side ones and then glue the two main flaps to each other, as in the picture

How to make crepe paper flowers
Crepe paper is one of my favorites, because it allows many uses for decorations. In fact, with the following tutorial we will learn how to make a crepe paper rose : I can assure you that it is very simple to do, but that the effect is truly amazing!

Here's what you need:

wire (one a little more double for the stem, the other very thin)
glue
red crepe paper
green crepe paper
green florist ribbon
scissors
nipper
wadding
thick cardboard (for the shapes of petals and corolla of leaves)
How to proceed:
take the thick cardboard, draw the shape of a heart and cut out: it will be your silhouette for the petal
now, take the red crepe paper and draw many hearts (the quantities you will decide based on the volume you want to give to your rose or on how many flowers you want to make)
cut out the various petals
now, take each single petal and open it slightly, stretching the paper
give a hint of curve at the upper ends of the petal, curling the sides slightly with scissors (as if you wanted to make a curl at a gift bow, but with much more delicacy)
now, cut a piece of big wire
using a pair of pliers, hook the upper part of the wire
take the cotton wool and make a small "pon pon" at the end
cover this pom poms with red crepe paper
close with thin wire, as in the picture

now, glue all the petals to this pon pon, making the base of the petal adhere to the thick wire , as in the picture

continue to glue the petals together until you have achieved the desired size
spread and arrange the petals
now, take the thick cardboard and cut out a small triangle: it will be your base to make the shapes of the corolla of leaves to put immediately under the petals
take the green crepe paper, draw the triangles and cut them
iron the crepe paper a little
now, glue them to the base of the red petals (be careful, you don't need too many!), as in the picture

now, take the florist's ribbon and, starting from the top, cover all the big wire
done! Your crepe paper rose is ready!
To make this flower you can also use tissue paper . But keep in mind that the effect will be different from the one in the picture, and that you will surely have to make many more petals to have a voluminous rose.
